Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks est une chanteuse américaine qui a gagné l'édition 2007 de l'émission réalité « American Idol » aux États-Unis. Elle est née le 22 décembre 1989 à Staten Island à New York.


Famille et enfance

Elle est la fille de Jodi Weidmann et de Phillippi Sparks, un ancien joueur de football américain dans deux célèbres équipes les New York Giants (1992-9) et les Dallas Cowboys (2000). Il a pris sa retraite le 28 août 2000. Jordin est l'aînée de leurs deux enfants ; l'autre est un garçon, PJ. Pendant une courte période, la famille a habité à Orchard Place, Ridgewood, dans le New Jersey où Sparks est allée à l'école (Orchard School). Quelques uns de ses anciens profs qui y enseignent encore la soutiennent. Actuellement, la famille habite à Glendale, Arizona. Sparks suit un enseignement à domicile.



Carrière musicale

Le 23 mai 2007, Sparks a remporté toutes les tournées de la sixième saison d'« American Idol » qui a commencé le 17 janvier 2007. Au début, elle a fait bonne impression sur les trois juges Simon Cowell (un manager anglais dans la musique), Paula Abdul (une danseuse et chanteuse américaine) et Randy Jackson (un chanteur américain). Sparks est la plus jeune gagnante de cette émission et la seule qui vient du Sud-Ouest du pays.

Elle avait déjà fait plusieurs petits concours en Arizona, par exemple « Arizona Idol ». Elle travaillait un peu comme mannequin, et fait notable, elle a fait la une du magazine «Seventeen» (édition de décembre 2006). Elle était aussi actrice - plus particulièrement au théâtre.

Sa nouvelle chanson «This Is My Now » qui parle de quelqu'un qui vient de trouver indépendance et confiance et aimerait profiter au maximum de la vie, est sortie aux États-Unis. Sans doute, grâce à ce concours international, sa chanson va parcourir le monde entier. Lors du Super bowl de 2008, Jordin Sparks a chanté l'hymne national américain devant des millions de téléspectateurs attentifs qui rêvaient de voir les Patriots de la Nouvelle-Angleterre l'emporter pour être la deuxième équipe de l'histoire de la NFL à avoir eu une saison parfaite (la première fut les Dolphins de Miami de 1972) En 2008, elle réalise en collaboration avec Chris Brown le titre "No air" qui se classe dans les deuxièmes meilleures ventes aux Etats-Unis.
